St. Leonard BoomerFest (Centerville, August 8)

Fairborn's signature summer event returns for its 44th year at Community Park. Over 180 arts and crafts booths, food vendors serving fresh sweet corn, BBQ chicken, and pork chop sandwiches, live entertainment, and children's activities make this one of the best community festivals in the region. Admission and parking are free. If you have not been, this is the year to go.

Tour de Donut (Troy, August 22)

The Tour de Donut is easily one of the most fun events on the Ohio cycling calendar. Riders choose their distance, eat donuts at designated checkpoints to reduce their finishing time, and compete for the best (and worst) times. Whether you are a serious cyclist or just looking for a unique way to spend a Saturday morning, this event delivers. It takes place in Troy on August 22 from 7 AM to noon.

Fulton Farms Sweet Corn Festival (Troy, August 22-23)

If sweet corn is your thing, Fulton Farms in Troy is hosting its annual Sweet Corn Festival on August 22 and 23. Live music, food trucks, farm activities, and local vendors make this a perfect family outing. ARTFest on Main features juried artists displaying and selling paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed-media works. Live music and food vendors round out the experience. It is the perfect way to close out August in one of the most charming downtowns in the Dayton area.

A few events run through the rest of the summer and are worth keeping on your radar:

• Dayton Dragons Baseball at Day Air Ballpark continues through September with 66 home games, theme nights, and fireworks. One of the best family experiences in the region.
