Every August, Fairborn transforms into one of the biggest street festivals in the Miami Valley. The Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival is a beloved late-summer tradition that draws tens of thousands of visitors for a weekend of live music, family fun, and of course, tons of fresh sweet corn. What Is the Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival?

The Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival is one of the largest free street festivals in Ohio. Held annually in Fairborn, it features multiple days of live entertainment, food vendors, family activities, and a celebration of the harvest season. It has been a Miami Valley tradition since 1982 when it started at the Fairborn Lion Den Park, and it has grown from a small local gathering into a major regional attraction that brings in 35,000 to 50,000 visitors every year. Co-presented by the Fairborn Arts Association and the Fairborn Lions Club, the festival now spans two full days at Community Park with over 150 vendors, live music, and enough sweet corn to feed an army.

When and Where

The festival takes place Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Community Park, 691 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road in Fairborn. Yes, it is a bit different than the old downtown Main Street setup, but Community Park has been the home of the festival since 1984 and it offers plenty of space for the massive crowds. Both days run from 11:00 AM through the evening (Saturday until 7:00 PM, Sunday until 6:00 PM), and the best part is that admission and parking are completely free. Entertainment

The entertainment lineup at the Sweet Corn Festival is always packed with variety. The Festival Music Pavilion hosts performances throughout both days, featuring everything from live bands and acoustic sets to Irish dancers and a ventriloquist act. Past lineups have included Bad Optics, Kim Kelly Band, Trunk Monkey, and the Fairborn Civic Band. There is also a crowd-favorite corn-eating contest on Saturday afternoon where the City of Fairborn goes head-to-head against Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It gets competitive. Between the live music, the dancers, the barbershop chorus, and everything in between, there is always something happening on stage. Food

A few things I have learned from past years. Parking fills up fast, so arrive early or plan to park in nearby lots and walk. Bring cash -- some vendors take cards, but cash is still king at a few booths. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking. Check the entertainment schedule ahead of time so you can catch the acts you care about most. And since this is an outdoor event in Ohio in August, bring sunscreen, stay hydrated, and be ready for whatever weather comes your way.
