The Fourth of July is the biggest community night of the summer. Nearly every suburb in the Dayton metro hosts its own celebration, which means you can pick the one closest to home — or hop between a few. Here is what is happening on July 3 and July 4 across the area.

If you are looking for the biggest show, the Centerville–Washington Township Americana Festival is hard to beat — it is Ohio's largest single-day Fourth of July celebration. But every community brings its own energy. Beavercreek's Rotary Park event is a family favorite, Kettering's Go 4th! at Delco Park has bounce houses and food trucks, and Tipp City's late-night fireworks at Kyle Park are a great way to cap off the evening.

The Rest of July: Festivals, Fairs, and Live Music

After the Fourth of July fireworks, the calendar stays packed. Here are the major events happening across the Dayton area for the rest of the month.

Kickin' Chicken Wing Fest — Kettering (July 11)

The Kickin' Chicken Wing Fest at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering is a summer staple. Wings from local restaurants, live music, food vendors, and family-friendly entertainment. Fraze is one of the best outdoor venues in the Miami Valley, and this event always draws a big crowd.

Montgomery County Fair — Dayton (July 14–19)

The 174th Montgomery County Fair runs for a full week at the fairgrounds. Rides, livestock competitions, fair food, live entertainment, and one of the most consistent summer traditions in the region. For families in Dayton, Kettering, and surrounding communities, this is an annual must.

Industrial Strength Bluegrass SUMMER FEST — Xenia (July 16–18)

The Industrial Strength Bluegrass SUMMER FEST takes over the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia for three days of bluegrass and American roots music. It attracts talent from across the country and is one of the best music events in the area. If you enjoy live music in a festival setting, this is worth the trip.

Beavercreek Summer Entertainment Series — Beavercreek (July 18)

Beavercreek's free Summer Entertainment Series continues on July 18 with an evening of music, dancing, and community fun. Harry Connick Jr. — Fraze Pavilion, Kettering (July 19)

Grammy-winning artist Harry Connick Jr. performs at Fraze Pavilion on July 19 at 7:30 PM. Fraze consistently brings national acts to Kettering, and this is one of the highlights of the summer concert calendar.

United Irish of Dayton Celtic Festival — Downtown Dayton (July 24–26)

The Celtic Festival at RiverScape MetroPark is one of Dayton's most popular summer events. Three days of live Celtic music, Irish dancing, food, cultural exhibits, and a family-friendly atmosphere — all with free admission. The riverfront setting makes it one of the most scenic festival experiences in the region.

Dayton Dragons Home Games — All Month
