September & Fall 2026: Festivals, New Restaurants
and Events Across the Dayton Area.

We are closing out August and heading into what I think is the best season of the year in the Dayton area. September and October bring an incredible lineup of festivals, community events, new restaurant openings, and outdoor activities that make this region such a great place to call home.

In this edition, I am covering new restaurants and businesses that have not been featured yet. Bubba's 33 coming to Beavercreek. PickleRage opening its first Ohio location in Centerville. Warehouse 4 coffeehouse expanding to Beavercreek. Tronis Italian Bistro in Springboro. Villaggio's Italian Eatery in Centerville. El Toro Mexican Express in Kettering. Toasted Brunch Bar's second location in Vandalia.

And on the events front: the Ohio Renaissance Festival kicks off September 5. The Dayton Greek Festival, Italian Fall Festa, Taste of the Oregon District, Hispanic Heritage Festival, Oktoberfest at the Dayton Art Institute, Flashback Funk Fest at The Rose with the Ohio Players and Morris Day & The Time, Centerville Fall Fest, Xenia Fall Festival, and Hauntfest on Fifth for Halloween.

New Restaurants and Businesses Opening Across the Region

Bubba's 33 — Coming to Beavercreek

One of the more anticipated openings in Beavercreek is Bubba's 33, the sports-bar and grill concept from Texas Roadhouse. The restaurant is proposed for the former TGI Fridays location at 2799 Fairfield Commons Blvd, right in the heart of the Beavercreek shopping corridor. Bubba's 33 is known for its made-from-scratch pizza, burgers, wings, cold beer, and a lively atmosphere with big-screen sports. The concept has built a loyal following across the South and Midwest.

For anyone who lives in Beavercreek or works near the Fairfield Commons area, this is a welcome addition to the local dining landscape. I will share more details as the opening date is announced.

PickleRage — First Ohio Location in Centerville

This one is exciting for a different reason. PickleRage, a premium indoor pickleball and social club concept, is opening its first Ohio location in Centerville in November 2026. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country, and PickleRage is at the forefront of the indoor facility trend. The Centerville location will feature multiple Pickleball courts, a full bar, and a social lounge.

For Centerville residents and anyone in the south suburbs, this is a sign of the community's evolution. A dedicated indoor pickleball facility with a social component is exactly the kind of amenity that makes a suburb stand out. I am looking forward to seeing this open.

Warehouse 4 Coffeehouse — Expanding to Beavercreek

Warehouse 4 is opening a new location in Beavercreek. Already a well-loved Dayton-area coffeehouse known for its craft coffee, fresh breakfast and lunch, and baked goods, Warehouse 4 has built a loyal following for its cozy industrial aesthetic and quality menu. This expansion into Beavercreek gives east-side residents another excellent local coffee option.

Tronis Italian Bistro — Springboro

Tronis Italian Bistro has opened in Springboro, bringing classic Italian fare to the growing south suburb. Expect pasta dishes, seafood, and traditional Italian recipes in a warm, family-friendly setting. Springboro's dining scene continues to mature, and Tronis is a solid addition.

Villaggio's Italian Eatery — Centerville

Villaggio's Italian Eatery is the newest Italian dining option in Centerville. Hearty Italian comfort food — think pasta, chicken parmesan, and homemade sauces — without having to drive downtown. Another sign that Centerville is becoming a destination for dining.

El Toro Mexican Restaurant Express — Kettering

El Toro Mexican Restaurant has opened an express location in the Castle Hills Shopping Center on Wilmington Pike in Kettering. Quick-service Mexican food from an established local name. Perfect for a fast lunch or easy carryout dinner. Another solid option for Kettering residents.

Toasted Brunch Bar + Cafe — Coming to Vandalia

Toasted Brunch Bar + Cafe, which has built a strong following for its creative brunch menu, is opening a second location in Vandalia. The new spot will take over the former Burger King building on East National Road. Elevated breakfast and brunch is coming to the airport corridor. I know a lot of Vandalia residents have been waiting for more dining options, and this is a great addition.

WCR Headquarters — $15M Manufacturing Hub in Xenia

Not every new business is a restaurant. WCR, a local manufacturer, opened a new $15 million headquarters on Bellbrook Avenue in Xenia in late 2025, creating over 100 new jobs producing heat exchangers. This is a meaningful investment in Xenia's industrial base and a sign that the local economy continues to expand across multiple sectors.

Fall Events: Festivals, Concerts and Community Celebrations

Tecumseh Corn & Music Festival — August 28-30

The Tecumseh Corn & Music Festival takes place August 28 through 30 at McAuliffe Park. Fresh sweet corn, live music, craft vendors, and family activities. A three-day celebration that is a perfect way to close out August and welcome September.

Ohio Renaissance Festival — Weekends Starting September 5

The Ohio Renaissance Festival returns to nearby Waynesville for weekends starting September 5 through the fall. Jousting tournaments, artisan crafts, turkey legs, and themed weekends that draw visitors from across the region. It is one of those traditions that families plan their entire fall around, and for good reason. If you have never been, this is the year to go.

Dayton Greek Festival — September 11-13

The Dayton Greek Festival is one of the best cultural food festivals in the region. Running September 11 through 13, it features authentic Greek cuisine including spanakopita, gyros, souvlaki, and incredible baklava. Live bouzouki music, traditional dancing, and a warm, welcoming community atmosphere. Free admission for kids under 12 and veterans. Do not miss the pastries.

Italian Fall Festa — September 11-13

Same weekend, different cuisine. The Italian Fall Festa at Bella Villa Hall brings homemade pasta, meatballs, cannoli, live music, and bocce. Another fantastic cultural food festival that showcases the depth of Dayton's ethnic dining traditions.

Taste of the Oregon District — September 12

Taste of the Oregon District is your chance to sample dishes from the Oregon District's best restaurants in one walkable afternoon. The Oregon District is Dayton's most iconic dining and entertainment neighborhood, and this annual food walk is the perfect way to explore it. Grab a group of friends and make an afternoon of it.

Hispanic Heritage Festival — September 19

The Hispanic Heritage Festival takes over downtown Dayton on September 19 with live music, dance performances, authentic Latin America food, and family activities. A vibrant and growing annual event that celebrates the region's Hispanic community.

Autumn Fest at Learning Tree Farm — September 20

For families with young children, Autumn Fest at Learning Tree Farm on September 20 is a must. Pony rides, hayrides, nature games, and farm animals at one of Dayton's most beloved educational farms.

Oktoberfest at Dayton Art Institute — September 25-27

This is the one I look forward to every year. The Oktoberfest at the Dayton Art Institute is the region's premier fall festival, and it has been going strong since 1971. Over 50 craft beers, live music on two stages, a massive food court, artisan vendors, and the iconic Weingarten. It takes place on the Art Institute's beautiful grounds overlooking the city. If you only go to one fall festival this year, make it this one.

Flashback Funk Fest 2026 — October 1 at The Rose

This lineup is incredible. Ohio Players, Morris Day & The Time, Confunkshun, and Lakeside take the stage at the Rose Music Center on October 1 for the Flashback Funk Fest. The Ohio Players are icons. Morris Day & The Time are legends. This is a night of funk and soul that will have you dancing from the first note to the last. Tickets go fast.

Centerville Fall Fest — October 4 at Stubbs Park

Centerville Fall Fest transforms Stubbs Park into a family-friendly autumn celebration on October 4. Hayrides, inflatables, face painting, and activities for kids. Free and open to everyone. A great way to spend a fall Saturday in one of my favorite communities in the Dayton area.

Heritage of Flight Festival — Early October in New Carlisle

The Heritage of Flight Festival in New Carlisle honors the Miami Valley's rich aviation history with a Parade of Planes, vintage aircraft displays, and family activities. Given the region's deep connections to the Wright brothers and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, this festival has special meaning. A unique event you won't find anywhere else.

Xenia Fall Festival & Oktoberfest — October 11

Xenia Fall Festival & Oktoberfest on October 11 features a craft show, antique tractor cruise-in, farmer's market, straw bale maze, and Oktoberfest activities. Downtown Xenia comes alive with the community. A true small-town celebration.

Hauntfest on Fifth — October 31

Hauntfest on Fifth closes out October with Dayton's biggest Halloween street party. Costumes, music, food, and an electric atmosphere on Fifth Street in the Oregon District. If you enjoy Halloween, this is where you want to be.

Fall Activities for Families

Cowvin's Corny Corn Maze at Young's Jersey Dairy

Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs is a Dayton institution. Their annual Corn Maze runs from August through early November, and it is a rite of passage for families across the region. Add homemade ice cream, the petting farm, and the hayride, and you have a perfect fall day out. It is worth the short drive from any of the suburbs.

Niederman Family Farm Fall Festival

Niederman Family Farm in Hamilton runs its Fall Festival weekends from late September through October. Pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hayrides, and farm activities. Another solid option for families looking for that classic autumn experience.

What All of This Tells Us

I have been doing this for over 20 years. In that time, I have learned that the health of a community is measured in the things that bring people together. A Renaissance festival that draws families from across the region. A Greek festival that has been going for decades. A newly proposed sports-bar concept from Texas Roadhouse choosing Beavercreek for its next location. A pickleball club opening its first Ohio outpost in Centerville.

These are not random data points. They are signals that people are investing in this region. They are building businesses here. They are choosing to raise their families here. They are betting on the communities I serve.
