This Week in Dayton: The Home Expo,
Veterans Week
& November's New Openings.
By Jason White
Fresh for the first full week of November 2026 across the greater Dayton area and suburbs: the free Dayton Home & Lifestyle Expo lands at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds November 6-8, Bourbon & Bubbles closes the Dayton Art Institute for a signature spirits evening November 6, the Dayton VA hosts its Veterans Day parade and resource fair November 7, and the Veterans Day ceremonies follow in Beavercreek, Centerville, and Kettering on November 11. On the dining front, a 7 Brew Coffee location holds its ribbon cutting November 9, and the holiday season takes shape behind it with Christmas in Springboro and the Christkindl Market.
Last week's guide covered the final stretch of Halloween, from Hauntfest on Fifth to the trunk-or-treat slate in Centerville, Vandalia, and Beavercreek. Halloween wraps Saturday night across the suburbs, and the calendar flips straight into the fall's biggest home event.
Here is everything fresh I have not covered before.
The Free Dayton Home & Lifestyle Expo: November 6-8
The Best Free Event of the Year for Buyers and Sellers
If you only put one event on the calendar this fall, make it the Dayton Home & Lifestyle Expo at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, running Friday through Sunday, November 6-8. It is free, and it brings home improvement, design, mortgage, and real estate exhibitors together under one roof with seminars and vendor booths. The WYSO community calendar lists the details, and it is the kind of event where first-time buyers can sit with lenders and builders side by side without a sales pitch chasing them out the door. If you are thinking about buying, selling, renovating, or just figuring out what your home is worth, this is the weekend to walk the floor.
Bourbon & Bubbles at the Dayton Art Institute
November 6, 7:30-10:30 p.m.
The Art Institute's marquee spirits evening, Bourbon & Bubbles 2026, runs Friday, November 6 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The museum closes to the public that day to host it, so the galleries become the setting for a grown-up evening of bourbon, bubbles, and the permanent collection. If you prefer the museum in daylight, tours and galleries resume Saturday, November 7. The Art Institute's upcoming events calendar has ticket details.
From the Dayton VA's Veterans Day parade to the ceremonies at Veterans Memorial Park and Stubbs Park, Veterans Week honors our service members across every suburb.
Veterans Week: The VA Parade, Plane Talks & the November 11 Ceremonies
The Dayton VA's 5th Annual Parade & Resource Fair: Saturday, November 7
Veterans Day lands midweek this year, so the celebrations start the weekend before. The Dayton VA Medical Center's 5th Annual Veterans Day Parade & Resource Fair runs Saturday, November 7 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 4100 W. Third Street in Dayton, with the parade followed by a resource fair connecting veterans and families to benefits and services. The VA's official event listing has the full details. That same Saturday, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force hosts its annual Plane Talks in honor of Veterans Day, with veterans, active-duty personnel, and subject-matter experts stationed throughout the galleries.
The November 11 Ceremonies Around the Suburbs
On Wednesday, November 11, the suburbs honor the day with community ceremonies. Beavercreek holds its ceremony at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 1911 N. Fairfield Road, with the city's event page open to the public. Kettering gathers at 11 a.m. at the Delco Park Veterans Memorial Plaza, 1700 Delco Park Drive, and Centerville holds its observance at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Stubbs Park. I rounded up the full day across every suburb in my late-October and November events guide, and base families have the complete Wright-Patterson picture, including Plane Talks and Veterans Day base hours, in my latest Wright-Patterson week ahead.
Culture & Family: The New Americans Exhibit, Actor's Theatre & Boro Theatre
The New Americans Art Exhibit Opens at the Main Library
The New Americans art exhibit opens Thursday, November 5 at the Dayton Metro Library Main, 215 E. Third Street, and runs November 1 through December 31. The free exhibit celebrates the region's immigrant communities through their own art, and the opening evening is a chance to meet the artists. It is a thoughtful, free way to spend an evening downtown, and it ties into the story of a metro that has always been a landing place for new families, including the military families relocating to Wright-Patterson.
Theatre in Fairborn and Springboro
Two community stages open November runs the same weekend. Four Old Broads: A Christmas Extravaganza plays Friday, November 6 at Actor's Theatre in downtown Fairborn, a short drive from Wright State. And Boro Theatre in Springboro opens its November production with a first weekend November 6-8 and a second run November 13-15. Both are the kind of low-key, local nights out that make the suburbs feel like small towns even as they grow.
The Restaurant Tracker: A 7 Brew Ribbon Cutting & the Honest Status of Every Project
7 Brew Coffee Holds Its Ribbon Cutting November 9
The fresh dining news this week is coffee. WHIO reported October 14 that a Dayton-area 7 Brew Coffee location will hold its ribbon cutting Monday, November 9. 7 Brew was first reported eyeing Fairborn this fall, so this confirmation reads as the drive-thru coffee wave officially landing in the metro. The WHIO announcement has the details, and I will name the exact location the moment it is confirmed.
The Rest of the Tracker: Honest Status, No Dates Yet
Every project I have been following since the summer is still moving, with no confirmed dates. Kawa Revolving Sushi has its Austin Landing space confirmed, Scramblers keeps building out at The Greene, Black Rock Bar and Grill continues its buildout at the Mall at Fairfield Commons, Whoa Dogs has its Oregon District lease finalized, and Hummus and Garlic is preparing the former So Pizza space near the Dayton Mall. I covered the month's confirmed openings, from Dave's Hot Chicken and Crumbl in Beavercreek to Jet's Pizza on Springboro Pike, in my October restaurant roundup, and I will share each new opening date the moment it is confirmed.
The Holiday Season Takes Shape: Christmas in Springboro & the Christkindl Market
Christmas in Springboro: Letters to Santa Start November 13
Springboro kicks its holiday season off earlier than most. Letters to Santa are accepted starting Friday, November 13, and the Christmas in Historic Springboro weekend runs November 20-22 with the 5K at 9 a.m. and the parade at noon on Saturday, November 21, plus Santa at Rotary Park. The festival website posts the full lineup. I have the complete late-November calendar, every tree lighting and drive-through lights display, in my late-November holiday kickoff guide, from Woodland Lights to ParkLights in Xenia and the Grande Illumination downtown.
Deck the Diamond & the Christkindl Market
Mid-month, Deck the Diamond lights Day Air Ballpark with more than a million holiday lights from November 13 through January 2, an easy evening stop for downtown families. And on Saturday, November 28, the Christkindl Market returns to the Front Street complex in downtown Dayton with German-style vendors, food, and local crafts. Those two bookend a holiday calendar that runs nonstop through New Year's.
Why I Track All of This
November is when the community calendar flips from harvest to holiday, and this year it brings one of the best free home events the metro has all year. The Home & Lifestyle Expo is worth the trip for anyone even thinking about a move, and Veterans Week reminds us why this region, with Wright-Patterson at its center, honors service families year-round.
For buyers, this is the context that makes a community feel like home before the offer is ever written. For sellers, it means your street sits inside a region with the kind of energy that keeps demand steady even as the seasons turn. And for anyone considering the move from another state, this is the Dayton I know: welcoming, active, and full of reasons to put down roots.
Whether you are buying, selling, or just curious about what your home might be worth, I am here with straight answers and a strategy that fits your situation.
"From the free Home & Lifestyle Expo at the fairgrounds to the Dayton VA's Veterans Day parade, the first week of November shows how a metro steeped in military service and community energy comes together, and it is exactly why families choose this region."
